Our Story

In 1953, Skyvue Memorial Gardens Cemetery was opened for burials by Claud W. Estes Sr., Victoria Estes and Claud W. Estes Jr. This was the first perpetual care cemetery in Tarrant County that did not discriminate against any families based upon race, religion, or creed. Victoria Estes had made comments many times that ‘By God’s Grace’ people are born as they are and should be laid to rest with the same respect. The Estes family owned and operated the cemetery until the death of Claud W. Estes Jr. in 1979.

In May of 1995, Claud III, Daniel, and their grandmother, Victoria Estes, purchased back Skyvue Memorial Gardens and began to upgrade roads, shrubs, flower beds, and a newly designed entrance with wrought iron gates.

In 1997, they added new gardens and expanded again in ’99 and ’00. After the passing of Victoria Estes in ’99, Claud III and Daniel Estes started discussing the possibilities of taking the next step in developing and opening a State of the art Family Owned Funeral Home in memory of their dad and grandparents.

During March 2004, Skyvue Funeral Home opened its doors for the first time. Skyvue now offers complete services that include making arrangements for cemetery, funeral home, and cremations available to everyone in one location without having to drive all over town to make these choices. Even to this day still Family Owned and still family run.
