Obituary for Richard Quade

Richard Quade
Richard (Rick) Quade, 60, lost his brave battle against lung cancer at 4:44 a.m. on Monday, March 28, 2016. Summer, Rick’s favorite time of the year, we will have A Celebration of Life and plans for this will be shared at a later date.
Rick was born August 26, 1955, in Chicago, lL. and said “he got to Texas as quick as he could.” Rick served in the Marine Corp as an M.P. from 1975-1979. After leaving the Marine Corp he had several different jobs but the one that meant the most to him was his employment with Richmond Services, Inc. for 30 years. He started as a journeyman and through hard work he became lead man. With dedication and loyalty, he became estimator. Then through excellence he was moved up to Vice President. Rick was always firm but fair with the men. I don't know of anyone that didn't like and respect him. Rick loved his work, football season (Dallas Cowboys), summers hanging out by the pool with Cyndi and his Coors Light.
Survivors: Wife of 21-1/2months, Cyndi; daughter, Breanna Quade; son, Richard Quade; stepdaughters, Kellye and husband Dustin Raughton, Kyndall Hunt; sisters, Marti and husband Joe Alley, Mary and Gordy Bunce; brother, Ron Quade, grandchildren, Isaac, Mya and Easton Quade, Sutton Ferrell; many nieces and nephews and many, many beloved friends.

IN MEMORY OF RICK QUADE…MAY HE “REST IN PEACE”
THE FINAL INSPECTION by Joshua Helterbran
The Soldier stood and faced God, The soldier squared his shoulder and said,
Which must always come to pass. ‘No, , Lord, I guess I ain’t.
He hoped his shoes were shining, Because those of us who carry guns,
Just as brightly as his brass. Can’t always be a saint.
Step forward now, Soldier, I’ve had to work most Sundays,
How shall I deal with you? And at times my talk was tough.
Have you always turned the other cheek? And sometimes I’ve been violent,
To My Church have you been true?’ Because the world is awfully rough
But, I never took a penny, If you’ve a place for me here, Lord,
That wasn’t mine to keep… It needn’t be so grand
Though I worked a lot of overtime, I never expected or had too much,
When the bills got just too steep. But if you don’t, I’ll understand.
And I never passed a cry for help, There was a silence all around the throne,
Though at times I shook with fear. Where the saints had often trod.
And sometimes, God, forgive me As the Soldier waited quietly,
I’ve wept unmanly tears. For the judgment of his God.
I know I don’t deserve a place, ‘Step forward now, you Soldier,
Among the people here. You’ve borne your burdens well.
They never wanted me around, Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets,
Except to calm their fears You’ve done your time in Hell.’
