Elvis Albers

Elvis Paul Albers, 94, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Saturday, in Skyvue Victoria Chapel. Burial: Skyvue Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 11 a.m. Saturday at Skyvue Victoria Chapel.
Elvis was born September 17, 1922 at Waldeck, Texas to Adolph and Marie Albers. He married the love of his life, Laverne Cannon Albers, on March 1,1947 and they shared almost 70 years together. His wife, children and grandchildren were so blessed to have such a precious, gentle and Godly man leading their family. He was loving and self-sacrificing. He worked hard and lived the way he wanted to: loving God, loving his family, loving his friends--and always with a ready smile! He enjoyed working with tractors, gardening and doing yard work. He also delighted in serving the Lord, listening to good music and in playing guitars or a violin.
Elvis was preceded in death by his dear parents; sisters, Edna Mueller, Lenora Albers and Elsie Weishuhn; brothers, Emil Albers, Eddie Albers, Elton Albers, Alfred Albers and Milton Albers; and son-in-law, Robert Harris.
He is survived by his cherished wife; children, Sharon Harris , and Dwain Albers and wife Penny; grandchildren, Paul, Rex and wife Amy, Katherine and husband Joe, Cherie and husband Daniel, Matthew, Emily and Rhonda; 11 great-grandchildren and many other family members and dear friends.
Special thanks to his Caregivers at North Pointe Nursing Center and the Heart to Heart Hospice staff for the tender care they've provided during his last months
and home going.
