Laverne Albers (Cannon)

Laverne Albers, 92, passed from her earthly body to the wonderful presence of our Lord October 6, 2019. What she used to know by faith she now knows by sight!
Funeral: 1 pm Friday, October 11, 2019 at Skyvue Funeral Home. Burial: Skyvue Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 11 to 1 pm Friday, October 2019 at Skyvue Funeral Home.
Memorials: In lieu of Flowers donations can be made in Laverne Albers name to the Pleasant Hills Children's Home P.O. Box 1177 Fairfield, TX. 75840.
Laverne was born May 27, 1927 at Madisonville, Texas to Fred and Myrtle Cannon. She married the love of her life, Elvis Albers, on March 1,1947 and they shared almost 70 years together before his passing in 2016. Her children and grandchildren were so blessed to have such a precious and Godly woman as their Mom and Grandmother. She was loving and self-sacrificing- both to her children, her siblings and family and friends. She enjoyed being a homemaker, a seamstress and serving others in a myriad of ways.
Laverne was preceded in death by her precious husband, her dear parents, her sister, Zelda Kinnett; her brothers, Edward Cannon, W.M. Cannon, Thurman Cannon, Billy Cannon, Marshall Cannon, Grady Cannon and Ercel Cannon and her son-in-law, Robert Harris.
She is survived by her children, Sharon Harris, and Dwain Albers and wife Penny; grandchildren, Paul, Rex and wife Amy, Katherine and husband Joe, Rhonda, Cherie and husband Daniel, Matthew and Emily; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Jean Douglass and many other family members and dear friends.
Special thanks to her Caregivers at North Pointe Nursing Center for the excellent and tender care they've provided during the last 4 1/2 years.
