Jose P. Ayala, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on April 8, 2021 at the age of 75.
Visitation: 6-8pm Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Skyvue Funeral Home with a Rosary Service to begin at 7pm. Service: 10am Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Skyvue Funeral Home. Interment:1:30pm Thursday, May 6, 2021 at DFW National Cemetery, Dallas, TX. If you would like to attend, please meet at the cemetery 15 minutes before scheduled service time.

A small reception will follow the funeral at Walnut Creek Country Club from 1-4pm in Mansfield, Texas.
Jose was born in Brownsville, Texas on March 1, 1946 to Joe Ayala and Lydia Brown. He met, then later married the love of his life, Zulema Molina Ayala, on January 20, 1968 in La Casita, Texas.
Jose proudly served his country in the United States Army and after 22 years of service, retired as 1SG. Throughout his career in the US Army he was the recipient of two purple hearts, he received the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal (with silver, 1 loop), the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea), the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cress Unit Citation (with Palm), the Combat Infantryman Badge and Air Assault Badge. Once retired, Jose then became a part of his local VFW post and Knight of Columbus.
After a career in the military, his occupations spanned several industries including, Arlington Independent School District, Quality Paint and Body Shop and Universal Services.
Jose enjoyed spending time with friends, the friends of the Ayala and Zayas families, his grandkids and his loving wife, Zulema.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joe Ayala; mother, Lydia Brown.
Jose is survived by his wife, Zulema Molina Ayala; daughter, Amanda Ayala Zayas and husband, Edilberto Zayas; son, Joe Lewis Ayala and wife, Mandi Martinez Ayala; grandchildren, Alex M. Luna and husband Johnny T. Luna, Brianna J. Ayala, Bianca I. Zayas, Cristian M. Zayas; great-grandchildren, Dominic J. Paramo, Arabella J. Garnica, Izabelle R. Luna; and numerous other family members and friends.
