Betty Jean Teague

March 10, 1941 — July 19, 2024

Fort Worth

A Devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend

Betty Jean Teague passed away peacefully on July 19, 2024, at the age of 83. Betty was born on March 10, 1941, in Big Springs, Texas, to J.C. and Argene Cook.

She met the love of her life and beloved husband, David Elton Teague, of 62 years, and had three children, Sharon, Linda, and David. Betty was known for her hilarious wit, comical jokes, strong will, and unwavering love and support for her family.

She was highly active throughout her entire life, from childhood family games, like 42 and other card games, to an adult bowling league with her sister. She loved daily involvement with her children and grandchildren and entertaining family whenever possible. Just a few weeks ago, she partied at the local water park for her great-grandson's 6th birthday and stayed until the place closed. Betty attended every event, whether a birthday, sporting game, or holiday, indoors or outdoors, and always brought the party.

Her humor, often bordering on zany, was a source of joy and laughter for all. Her competitive spirit and love for family games made every gathering jovial and unforgettable. She was the epitome of the phrase "life of the party."

Betty's faith in God's grace, miraculous powers, and all-encompassing love was unwavering. No matter the situation, she prayed and looked to God first. She was kind to all and always offered her helping hand and loving support. And with her indomitable positive attitude and steadfast patience, she handled the hard stuff well. Betty was always a pillar of strength for her family.

Betty's legacy will forever be imprinted on the hearts and minds of those she touched. Her unending kindness, unwavering integrity, and love for her family will be remembered and cherished. As we honor Betty's life, we carry forward her spirit, love for family and fun, and belief in the power of kindness.
