Billy Ray Tidwell

Billy Ray Tidwell of Fort Worth, Texas came to rest on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at the age of 83.

Billy was born June 1, 1940, in Paris, Texas.  He married Wanda McDougle Tidwell in Denton, Texas on February 22, 1964. He ran his own trucking company, Tidwell Trucking. He was also a well-known flagman at Cowtown Speedway for 25 years along with many other tracks.

Billy served our country in the United States Army from 1957-1962.  He really enjoyed old cars and stock car racing.

He is preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Ouida McDougle; father-in-law, JC McDougle;

His legacy is continued with his loving wife of 59 years, Wanda Tidwell; son, Ervin Ray Tidwell; sister-in-law, Sharon Smith; granddaughter, Nikki Tidwell Anderson and husband Michael Anderson; great-grandchildren, Emma and Levi Anderson; nieces, Rashaunda Johnson and husband Ronnie, Christian Osborn and husband Brandon; great nieces and nephew, Tristian, Jacie, Makayla and Zane along with numerous friends that he has gained throughout the years.
