Glenn Reuben Blake passed away June 17, 2016 at the age of 85 years due to complications from a stroke. He was a resident of the Watercrest at Mansfield, Texas.
Memorial Service: 2 pm Wednesday, June 22,in Skyvue Victoria Chapel and presided over by Chaplain Bryan Barrett who is a great friend of the family from Gilmer and Baldridge Church of Christ in Ennis, Texas. His ashes will be interred at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Glenn was born February 3, 1931 in Lubbock, Texas. He was the son of Charles Reuben Blake and Velma Lee (Smith) Blake. Glenn's parents worked in farming, the dairy industry and as a Baptist preacher. He attended schools in Jacksonville, Lubbock, Morton and Bronte, Texas where he graduated high school in 1948. Glenn was in the United States Navy Reserve from 1948 until 1951 and on active duty in the United States Air Force from 1951 until 1955.
After leaving the Air Force, he attended and graduated from Texas Tech in 1958 with a degree in entomology. Glenn started his career as an entomologist in 1958 in Pecos, Texas. On June 8, 1962, Glenn married the former Shirley Ann Nichols and they lived in Midland, Plainview, Irving, Ennis, Duncanville and Mansfield, Texas throughout their fifty-four years of marriage. Glenn was a member of the Cedar Hill Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, James Dale Brown of Robert Lee, Texas and his brother Orville Lee Blake of Irving, Texas.
Survivors: Wife, Shirley (Nichols) Blake of Mansfield; their two sons,Michael Coy Blake and his wife Ann of Grand Prairie Texas; Charles Glenn Blake and his wife, Brandalena and their children Katerina Gianette Blake and Christopher Glenn Blake of San Antonio, TX; two brothers, Charles Vernon Blake and his wife Joy of San Angelo, Texas; Fred Dee Blake and his wife Sandra of Houston; a sister-in-law Nelda Blake of Irving, TX; and one sister Juanell (Blake) Brown of Robert Lee, Texas and many close friends from their years of working and living in Irving and Ennis Texas. He was a man known for his generosity, optimism and loyalty.
