Richard Glenn Bland

Richard Bland, 69, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016.
Memorial service: 10 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016, in Skyvue Victoria Chapel.
He was born September 28, 1946 in Tyler to R. G. and Mary Bland. After graduating from University of Texas at Tyler, he graduated from St Mary’s School of Law in 1985 and had a long successful career as a Prosecutor for the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office. Richard married the love of his life, Michele on September 12, 1987.
He was preceded in death by his Father, R. G. Bland and Uncles Ralph Bland, Hugh Bland; and Aunt Helen Terrell.
Survivors include his wife Michele Bland; Mother, Mary Bland; brother, Jimmy Bland and wife, Sue; sister, Linda Kay Sandefer and husband, Eddie; Nephews: Dennis Bland and Beck Sandefer; Nieces: Amy Cunningham and Jennifer Sandefer; Aunts: Edie Davis, Wanda Jenkins, Joy McAllister, Belle Banks, Olta Clark and Joyce Bickerdike; Uncles: Pat Hendrix, Bill Hendrix; and his loving companions, Jake, Blue, Bailey, and Bogie.
Richard was a man of few words, unless talking about his dogs or deer hunting. No dog or horse had a better home than to share their days with Richard. He was a wonderful husband, son, brother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
