Jean Brantley (Lacy)

July 12, 1933 — October 29, 2019

On October 29, 2019, Jean (Lacy) Brantley, loving wife and mother of two children, went to be with the Lord from her her home in Mansfield, Texas at the age of 86.

Jean was born on July 12, 1933 in Turkey, Texas to Walter Lee Lacy and Susie Valentine (Bailey) Lacy.

Jean is survived by her two sons, Phillip Brantley and his wife Theresa, and Steven Brantley and his wife Victoria. Jean has two grandchildren, Amy Wagner and Garrett Brantley and two Great Grandchildren, Caden and Allison Wagner; two step grandchildren, Lynn Albertson and Michael Jones; a great step grandchild, Michael Clark; two sisters, Lorene Collins and Sue George and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jean is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 67 years, Daniel G. Brantley; seven sisters, Bessie, Bernie, Oline, Florene, Bobbie, Evelyn and Joyce; three brothers, I.J., Sonny and Earnest.

Jean was a housewife before working as a hairdresser for many years and then worked retail in a hardware store until her retirement. Being active in the P.T.A. from Elementary to High School was a priority for Jean while her boys were in school. After retirement she worked for the “Beautify the Lake” committee of the Cedar Creek Lake community. Crafting was a hobby that Jean pursued throughout her life to include painting and firing of ceramics. As an avid gardener, Jean always kept a beautiful and colorful landscape wherever she lived. Having played high school basketball for the Turkey Turks, Jean was an enthusiastic fan of professional basketball, never missing a televised Maverick game. Jean was a faithful and prayerful Christian as a member of the Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School teacher and Vacation Bible School Coordinator among many other duties over the years.

Visitation: Friday 1-2 pm at Skyvue Funeral Home.

Chapel Service: 2 pm Friday, November 1, 2019, at Skyvue Funeral Home.
