Bret R. Young (PeeWee), 60, Passed Away on September 3, 2024.

Bret R. Young, known affectionately as PeeWee, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. He was born on May 27, 1964, in Harbor City, California, to Roger S. Young and Jacquelyn R. Petty. 

A graduate of Mesquite High School, Bret’s life was marked by a deep passion for racing and transmission work. He found his true calling as the owner of Kennedale Performance Transmission, a role that kept him deeply engaged with the transmission community and dirt track racing across many states. Bret’s dedication extended to his active involvement with Kennedale Speedway, Cowtown Speedway, and various dirt track communities. 

In early 2013, Bret met Stacy L. Young, and they were married in a private ceremony in Las Vegas in October 2015. They later celebrated with friends and family in a special wedding event in Mansfield, Texas, on September 5, 2018. Bret was a devoted member of Liberty Church in Mansfield and cherished his role as a husband, father, and grandfather. 

Bret’s hobbies included tinkering with race car transmissions, enjoying dirt track racing, exploring historical sites across America, camping, and creating lasting memories with his loved ones. He particularly treasured the road trips he took with his camper and his grandkids in-tow, each trip holding a special place in his heart. 

Bret is preceded in death by his mother, Jacquelyn Petty; father, Roger Young; grandparents Charles Cooper Farragut Jr. and Geraldine Farragut, as well as Sandra Young and Ned Young; father-in-law William Olsen; mother-in-law Sandra Olsen; and cousins Ivy and Scotty Young; nephew, Little Rockey Lockhart.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Stacy Lynn Young; daughters Roni, Cydney (and Adam), Tricia (and Charles); sons Nathan (and Ciera) and Lance; brothers Randy (and Renee Roysdon) and Brent (and Darlene Young); and grandchildren Ryan, Kimberlynn, Brookelynn, Vannah, Benny, Sterling, Junnielynn, Jessielynn, and Raelynn. He is also survived by nieces Robin (and Matt) and their children Everett and Elliott King; nephews Rusty and Leann and their children RJ and Alexander Roysdon; aunts and uncles Tim and Patty Young, Alice and Tom Russell, Grace and JD Necaise, Joseph and Phyllis Farragut, and Momma Joan and Cotton Ladner; and cousins Nick Young, Ryan Young, and the Ladner family on Ladner Lane; niece, Dinesa (and Mike Tapley); brother in law, Big Rockey ( and Diane Lockhart). All the Friends from Mississippi to Texas, and everywhere in between.
