Doris Marie Morris Bryant, 90, of Fort Worth, went home to be with the Lord on May
25, 2020. She was diagnosed with mesothelioma in October 2019.
She was born in Sudan, Texas, daughter of Homer and Lillie Morris. Her husband of 58
years, Thurmon Bryant, died July 27, 2004. Doris was also preceded in death by two of
her sons, Larry Bryant and Danny Bryant, and her brother Jerry Lee Morris (and wife
Wilma Morris).
Doris is survived by two sons: David Bryant (wife Chris) of Hewitt, Texas, and Randy
Bryant (wife Elizabeth) of Crowley, Texas, as well as Larry's two daughters, Kristina
Woolridge and April Saxon. She is also survived by her beloved cousin, Wydetta
Graham, who has been a source of joy, peace, and caring for many years. Finally, she is
blessed to claim many surviving cousins, nieces and nephews.
Thurmon and Doris were missionaries in Brazil for 20 years. Then they served for 20
years in Richmond, Virginia, where he was a vice president on the staff of the
International Mission Board of the SBC. Doris and Thurmon graduated from Sudan
High School, Baylor University, and Southwestern Theologocial Seminary.
They retired to Fort Worth, where Doris was a faithful member of Travis Avenue Baptist
Church and a member of a loving Sunday School class with many very close friends.
