Mr. Dennis Jerome Buchanan

Dennis Buchanan was born in Detroit, Michigan to the late Daisy J. Buchanan and Luke Buchanan on September 27, 1949.

In 1968, he was united in holy matrimony to the late Janice Delores Moore 1968-1970, and to this union, Gerald Jerome Buchanan was born. Dennis was united in holy matrimony from 1973-1978, to the late Betty Murray and to this union, Jose Buchanan and Nichelle Buchanan were born.

Dennis Buchanan attended the Detroit Public School System and attended the Job Corps training to obtain automotive skills. Dennis worked for Chrysler and two General Motors Corporation plants totaling 35 years.

Dennis had a passion for music and comedy. He was always the life of the party at social gatherings. He looked forward to being with others to enjoy happy and not so happy times. Dennis was the family historian as he could easily recall dates, people and events from the past.

Dennis confessed his belief in Christ, and was a member of the Messiah Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan until his mobility skills diminished.

He made his transition on September 14, 2019, and entered his Heavenly rest. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daisy J. and Luke Buchanan; and one sister, Toni Buchanan.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving children; sons, Gerald Buchanan, Jose Buchanan, Dennis Hutcherson, Dennell Vance, Jamel Buchanan; his daughter, Nichelle Gaines; two brothers, Ralph Buchanan and Roger Buchanan; two sisters, Sheri Wright and Cecilia Buchanan; one aunt, Aunt Dorrine Barksdale. He also leaves to cherish his memory, a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
