Charles Kenneth "KT" Thompson Sr., a dedicated truck driver and loving family man, passed away on July 28, 2023, in Arlington, Texas. Born on June 18, 1946, in Meridian, Texas, Charles lived a vibrant life filled with love, passion, and unwavering commitment to those he held dear.
Charles embarked on a successful career as a truck driver, traversing countless miles across the country. His determination and work ethic earned him the respect of his peers and the admiration of his family. Charles took great pride in his job and saw it as not just a means of livelihood but also as an opportunity to explore the vast landscapes of this great nation.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Charles was known for his deep passion for his loved ones. He had an extraordinary ability to connect with people and radiated warmth wherever he went. Those who were fortunate enough to spend time with Charles were captivated by his infectious laughter and genuine interest in their lives. He possessed an innate ability to make others feel heard and valued, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.
In his free time, Charles indulged in some of his favorite pastimes. He had a deep affection for fast cars, their sleek designs capturing his imagination and igniting a sense of exhilaration within him. Additionally, Charles was an avid football enthusiast with an unwavering loyalty to The Dallas Cowboys. His passion for the sport enhanced many lively discussions and created lasting memories shared with family and friends.
Amongst Charles's proudest accomplishments was being a member of the VFW in Alvarado, Texas. Through this organization, he found camaraderie with fellow veterans and worked tirelessly towards supporting those who had served our country bravely.
Charles deeply treasured the relationships he built over the years. He leaves behind a legacy of love as he reunites with his parents Elizabeth Kathrine and Charles Marvin Thompson. Joining them in the embrace of eternal peace is his beloved child, Marvin "Tooter" Thompson, and nephew Dean Smith. Charles is survived by his daughters, Tammy Thompson and Tracy Snyder, along with her husband Mikey Snyder. His sons, Charles K. Thompson Jr., Josie Thompson, Keith Thompson, Tracy Thompson, Jeffery Thompson, and wife Laura Thompson, and Will Reed also mourn his loss.
Charles will be greeted by his sisters: Charlie Elizabeth Lane, Clarcie Ann Luttrell, and Linda Kay Smith. Above all else, Charles cherished family bonds and found immense joy in spending time with his wide-ranging family tree. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren: Tony Sander, Jonathan Sanders, Tonya Sanders, Ben Thompson, Hunter Thompson, Ian Thompson, C.W. Schultz, Justin Thompson, Castin Thompson, Eleanor Thompson, Ashley Baker, Summer Baker Dalton Reed; Meagan Thompson; Kaylee Thompson; Brendan Cook; Makayla Thompson, Tyler Thompson.
Additionally, Charles leaves behind 27 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren who will continue to honor his memory by embracing the values he held dear.
A "Celebration of Life" service will take place on August 2nd at 3:00 PM at the Boulevard Baptist Church located at 315 N Burleson Blvd in Burleson Texas. Following this service on August 3rd at 10:00 AM at the Brazos Point Full Gospel Church situated at 59QH+5X in Kopperal Texas a "Funeral Service" will be held to pay tribute to Charles's remarkable life. Finally on that same day at 11:00 AM a burial service will be conducted at Brazos Point Cemetery located at 18987 MO-97 in Kopperl Texas.
Charles Kenneth Thompson Sr. leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories that serve as a testament to a life well-lived. His contagious laughter, caring nature, and unwavering love for his family and friends will forever linger in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.
