Jennie was born on October 11, 1960 at Bridgeport Hospital to Carlton and Linda Garrett. She was their first born and only daughter.
Jennie went through all 12 years of her schooling in Bridgeport School Systems. She chose not to go to college, however made a lasting impression in the corporate world.
Jennie was married to Lyndon Cearley in 1978. Jennie and Lyndon had a daughter, Shannon.
In 1985, Jennie started her career in the Insurance Industry working her way up the corporate ladder.
By the year 2010 Jennie was an Assistant-Vice President at IMA/Towerstone Insurance in Dallas, Tx.
In 1989 Jennie married Terry Conditt. Jennie and Terry had a son Cy Conditt.
Jennie was very proud of her daughter, Shannon, now married to Michael Flowers, for being a great daughter and also proud of Shannon’s accomplishments in her career in the Insurance Industry. Jennie was also very proud of Shannon for being a loving wife and mother. Jennie was glad to have Michael in her family and as the husband of her daughter. Michael’s mother, Diana (Mau) Flowers was a good friend of Jennies’ and respected very much by Jennie. Both were Grandmothers to Garrett and Paxton.
Jennie was also very proud of her son, Cy, for not only being alive at age 18, but very proud when Cy found his calling in life to be a Firefighter and Paramedic. She knew how hard Cy had worked in school and on the job to become the man he is today. They say behind every good man is a good women, or behind every good woman is a good man. Jennie was elated to have Lindsey Butler, as the woman in Cy’s life and in his heart.
Both Shannon and Cy have had too many accomplishments to mention here, but Jennie remembered every one of them and spoke of them often .
Shannon has two sons which made Jennie become “Nana” a gloating grandmother. Garrett-8 yrs and Paxton-16 mo's. Nana doted upon her grandsons. (definition of Doted:adore, love dearly, idolize, treasure, cherish, hold dear, be silly, etc.)(Definition : Nana: Jennie)
Jennie was proud to be a member of the “TT’s”, a group of 6 wonderful good crazy girls from her 1979 graduating class who have remained very close and often took trips, met for various reasons and occasions and had get-togethers. They are very close.
Jennie was diagnosed with Stage 2 Pancreatic Cancer on Oct 31, 2012.
Jennie handled this final chapter in her life with grace and unbelievable courage. She was thinking of other people in her life and never once thought of giving up. She had hope up to the very last days of her life.
Jennie wanted to make sure to thank everyone that sent a text, that made a call, sent an email, came to visit, sent word by another person, came to her birthday party, etc. There were a lot of people that did things giving Jennie the reason to fight and the reason to want to live. She appreciated every little thing done.
Her friends and family and business associates were there for her and she knew it. There are too many people and too many things for me to list when it comes to thanking people. Believe me when I say Jennie appreciated everything done for her in her time of need. Every text, call etc. made a difference.
Jennie’s immediate family; father, Carlton and mother, Linda, brothers, Dwayne and Tim and extended family of cousins, grandparents, uncles and aunts, etc. and Wise County made the mold for a loving wife and mother. We were all blessed to have Jennie in our lives.
She will be missed.
Survivors include: husband Terry Conditt, daughter Shannon and husband Michael Flowers, grandsons Garrett and Paxton Flowers, son Cy Conditt, her mother Linda Garrett, brothers Dwayne Garrett and wife Caprice and Tim Garrett and wife, Carla, a lot of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
