Jerry Emmanuel "Snake" Coulson, was born February 18, 1964 to Vessie Coulson in Pelham, Texas and transcended to the next life on February 13, 2022.
The man. The myth. The legend. Men wanted to be him, and women wanted to be with him. Raised in Long Beach, California he attended Millikan High School and was a star on and off the track field. Jerry also attended California State University Los Angeles where he crossed Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. A lover of good food, especially smothered pork chops, sugar grits, and smoked meat. You could catch him grilling in the front yard for all the neighborhood to behold his skills.
Jerry began his career as a courier at Federal Express (“FedEx”) in the late 1980's. Proudly serving over 30 years as a FedEx employee he lived and breathed the Purple Promise. Even on his off days you could catch him in his uniform. He was well liked and respected by his friends and co-workers and will be remembered as the break room comedian. He loved being the center of attention and life of the party. Although he was always joking, he was often the best person to call when you absolutely needed someone.
In 1991 he married his former spouse, Monica Coulson, with whom he shared two children.
After relocating back to his native Texas Jerry was finally reunited with his beloved Dallas Cowboys but he carried his love for the Los Angeles Lakers back with him. He was a man of many talents and considerable charm, which landed him another former spouse, Candace.
Jerry's passing has left an immeasurable hole in the lives of the people he loved. We will attempt to fill it with memories of his laughter, his warmth, and his smile.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his four daughters Danetris Robinson-Coulson (Melody Robinson), Amber Coulson (Venita Hart), Jermoni Coulson (Monica Coulson), Monique Bomar, and one grandson, Jordan Foster.
Jerry will also be remembered and cherished in the hearts of his loving brothers and sisters, Kelli Coulson, Wallace Akins, DeJuana Akins, Demond Akins, and Wayman Akins and a host of relatives, dear friends, and colleagues.
