David Allan Sawyer, age 64, passed away on April 5th, 2024, in Grand Prairie, TX. David was born in Waterloo, Iowa, to Orval and Carmen Sawyer on July 13th, 1959. He was raised and attended school in the rural neighboring town of Earlville, Iowa, alongside his brothers Dan and Duane Sawyer.
On December 30th, 1989, he married Lauren Michelle Sawyer in the Fort Worth, TX home of Michelle’s parents, Charles and Dorothy Jones.
David was widely respected throughout his professional career, which began as a Carpenter. He deeply cherished the work he did and the people he worked with. He held a special place in his heart for those at MC-2 Events Exhibits Environments. David was passionate about golf and adored his seven grandchildren. He was heavily involved in the lives of both his immediate and extended family, symbolizing a virtuous father figure with the utmost integrity to his children and grandchildren throughout their upbringing.
David is survived by his wife, Michelle; his sons, Josh and Shea Sawyer, and Brant Martinez; his daughter, Alysha and Matthew Hobbs; his brothers, Dan and Carol Sawyer, and Duane and Christine Sawyer; his grandchildren, McKayla Amador, Emery Martinez, Landon Hobbs, Alec Martinez, Evelyn Hobbs, Avery Sawyer, and Aiden Sawyer.
The family of David Sawyer wishes to extend sincere appreciation to those honoring his beloved and cherished memory.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 15th, at Skyvue Funeral Home from 6 to 8 PM. Funeral and burial services will also be held at Skyvue Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 16th, at 10 AM, with Todd Gentry of Lakeside Church officiating.
