Jill Marie Doll died peacefully in Denison, TX, on October 8, 2016, at the age of 69. Jill is survived by her father, Andrew Townsend of East Lansing, MI, and wife, Carol; brother, Dr. Lee Townsend of East Lansing, MI, and wife, Marilyn; son, Christian Doll of Mansfield, TX, and wife, Jennifer; and grandson, Jackson Doll of Mansfield, TX. She is preceded in death by mother, Joanna Townsend; and brother, Terry Townsend.
Jill was born on March 20, 1947, in San Antonio, TX, and was raised in Lansing, MI. She moved to Texas and eventually settled in Arlington, TX. Jill welcomed one child into her home and set about teaching him to be loyal and work hard. Her son remembers her as a mother who always loved him unconditionally and who encouraged him to pursue his goals. Jill was a talented crafter and often could be found working on a new project. She enjoyed fellowship and spent many happy hours with friends and family while she was shopping, playing cards or Bingo, or having a margarita. She was a generous individual who took pleasure in gift-giving and never missed a celebration. She adored her grandson who always laughed when his Mimi tried to get his toes.
A memorial will be scheduled in Michigan in the spring of 2017, with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jill's life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital at 2222 Wellborn Street, Dallas, TX 75219 or at https://community.tsrhc.org/sslpage.aspx?pid=196. Condolences can be sent to The Doll Family at 1004 Wedgewood Dr., Mansfield, TX 76063. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Baylor Heart Hospital of Plano and Texoma Medical Center for their knowledge and compassion.
