MANSFIELD -- Paul Ernest Fox, 82, of Arlington, Texas passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2016.
Memorial Service: 11 a.m., Monday, February 22, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church Arlington, 1200 South Collins, Arlington, Texas.
Inurnment: 2:30 pm Monday, at Dallas/ Fort worth National Cemetery.
Paul was born in Elizabeth, N.J. on September 20, 1933 to Paul and Dora Fox. He graduated from Roselle Park High School in 1951. His 1956 marriage to his classmate and love of his life, Joan A. Fox, lasted 58 years before her 2014 passing. He served in the Air Force and Reserve for 10 years then attended The Casey Jones School of Aeronautics and Newark College of Engineering, where he earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He retired from the Bell System in 1989 after a 31 year career, often traveling the world pioneering the development of transatlantic and satellite communication systems.
He and Joan relocated in 1997 to Arlington from Warren, N.J. after raising three children. Paul was an uncommon man; endowed with the focus and precision of an engineer, he was an equally selfless, caring and generous man as well as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.The world will little note, nor long remember, Paul Fox but he forever lives in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.
Survivors: left to celebrate his life include children, Eric (Jill) of Ringoes, N.J., Leslie Clarke (Jack) of Kennesaw, GA., and Paul (Joanne) of Mansfield, TX; grandchildren Emily and Aidan Fox, Patrick & Nick Clarke, Sara Goga (Matt), David, Jared and Elizabeth Fox, extended family and many, many friends.
