Paul Anthony Francis died December 23 in Roanoke, Texas. He was 56. Paul
was born in Brighton, Massachusetts on April 14, 1962 to John and Natalie
Francis. He grew up in Waltham, Massachusetts with his parents and two
brothers, Stephen and John. While growing up, his family made frequent
vacations to Martha’s Vineyard, where his parents later retired. While
growing up, Paul enjoyed fishing, skiing, and playing numerous other
sports. After graduating from Waltham High School, he moved to Texas to
attend school at the University of Texas at Arlington. At school he met his
wife, Laura Francis. They had four children together, Paul, Allison,
Claire, and Kathryn. Paul had a highly successful career in the automotive
retail industry that spanned over thirty years. He spent time as a
salesperson, sales manager, and general manager of numerous dealerships. In
these roles, he was a highly respected leader, mentor, and friend.
Throughout his life, Paul’s favorite activity was visiting Martha’s
Vineyard with his family. Almost every summer, he would take his family to
join his brothers, their families, and his parents to the places he loved
so much as a child and teenager. On these trips, he loved to fish, cook on
the beach, swim, and play games. When not on the Vineyard, Paul spent much
of his time off swimming and grilling burgers for anyone who happened to be
visiting that day. He was always the biggest fan at all of his kids’ games
and academic events. At all times Paul was committed to the wellbeing of
his four children, his immediate and extended family, and his ever-growing
group of friends that he never failed to keep in contact with. Paul was
warm, welcoming, outgoing, driven, and a genuinely fun person. He will be
greatly missed and happily remembered.
Paul is survived by his children, Paul Francis, Allison Vukovich and
husband Tommy, Claire Francis, and Kathryn Francis, his brother, Stephen
Francis and wife Carol, his niece, Emily Francis, and his nephews, John
Francis and John Adiletto. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, John
and Natalie Francis, brother, John Francis and wife Kim.
