Gary Drew O'keefe

Gary “Cobby” Drew O'Keefe, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away on August 6, 2023. He was born on October 3, 1955, in Covina, CA to his parents Tom and Frances O'Keefe. Gary brought joy and laughter to those around him with his playful and humorous personality. He will forever be remembered as someone who had a good heart and the ability to make anyone laugh.

Throughout his life, Gary cherished the simple pleasures that brought him happiness. He had a passion for adventure and enjoyed driving around the country with a spotlight in search of deer eyes reflecting back while hunting. Fishing was another activity he enjoyed, finding peace in the quiet nature provided. In his younger days, Gary engaged in go-kart racing alongside his son Shawn. Four-wheeling was yet another source of excitement for Gary that he got to share with both of his children. 

Music played an important role in Gary's life. He was particularly fond of rock music. He was proud to introde his daughter Casey to various rock bands by gifting her CDs from popular artists such as Black Crows, Nine Inch Nails, and White Zombie. Through music, Gary formed connections and shared moments of joy with his loved ones.

He is survived by his daughter Casey O'Keefe and son Shawn O'Keefe, both of whom will forever hold their father's spirit close to their hearts. Additionally, Gary leaves behind four grandchildren, his brothers Buster O'Keefe and Kelly O'Keefe, who will remember him as not only a sibling but also a loyal friend.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Gary Drew O'Keefe will be held at 7:00 PM on August 16, 2023, at Skyvue Funeral Home in Mansfield, TX.

Gary will forever be remembered as someone who brought smiles to our faces through his humor and love. His memory lives on forever in the hearts of those whose lives he touched deeply.
