Gerald Dwight Harper

April 11, 1965 — August 7, 2023

“In loving memory of Gerald Dwight Harper, born on April 11, 1965, in Sentinel, Oklahoma. He was called home on August 7, 2023, at the age of 58, in Dallas, Texas. A loving father, skilled electrician, and kind-hearted soul, Gerald's legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

His passion for fishing was nurtured by his father during his early years, and he continued to share this cherished pastime with his sons, Dylan and Bradyn, imparting the lessons he had mastered. Following four years of service as a United States Marine during Desert Storm, Gerald channeled his talents into becoming a gifted electrician and handyman. His willingness to lend a helping hand extended beyond his professional skills; he was known for assisting stranded motorists on the roadside, embodying his selfless nature.

Gerald's contagious sense of humor brightened many lives. He had an uncanny ability to inject a joke or a smile into any situation, lifting spirits even in the most challenging times. He left a lasting mark on those around him, always seeking ways to bring joy and laughter.

Gerald is survived by his mother Kathrine Mowry, sister Suzanne Doss and husband CJ Doss, step mother Paula Harper, step sister Johna Walker and husband Stephen Walker, his Uncle Lonnie Dwight Harper and Aunt Patricia “Patsy” James, his sons Dylan and Bradyn Harper. His unending love for his sons was evident in every interaction, as he consistently reminded them of his pride and affection, even if he had to leave a million voicemails. Gerald's passing is preceded by his father, Sterling Wayne Harper, whose memory lives on through the stories, laughter, and love he shared with his family and friends.

As we bid farewell to this beloved man, let us carry forward the lessons of compassion, humor, and unwavering love that he bestowed upon us. Gerald Dwight Harper will be deeply missed and forever cherished.”
