Daughter of the late Nickolas and Evangelia Brofa, Lula was born in Lamia, Greece, on May 26, 1926. She married the love of her life, Constantine “Dino” Golfis, and enjoyed 65 years of marriage. Lula and Dino made the bold journey to America with their two children in 1959, where they would live in Maine and then later in Texas.
With sharp attention to detail and a flair for style, Lula loved creating quality pieces of clothing and worked as an extraordinary seamstress alongside her husband. She enjoyed gardening and soaking in the sweetness of her gardenias and jasmine, which were present in her childhood home. More than anything, Lula deeply loved her family, who will miss her grace, joyful laugh, selflessness, pure honesty, and genuine compassion. Preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, and brother, Lula’s beautiful life and memory will be cherished by her children: Anna Golfis O’Brien (daughter) and husband Jerry, and John Golfis (son); grandchildren Katie and husband Chris, Paul and wife Katie, Autumn, and Chase; and great- grandchildren Sophia, Olivia, Constantine, Oliver, and Lula.
