Alva Dean Henderson went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 29, 2022. He was born to Vernon Alva Henderson and Rena Kiser Henderson in Shamrock, Texas on Nov. 28, 1942.
Alva Dean graduated Shamrock High in 1961. He went on to attend West Texas State University in Canyon Texas. He was drafted while attending college and joined the U.S. Navy. While serving in the Navy he met and married Evelyn Christine Davis and from that union they had two children, son Shawn Michael Henderson and daughter Re’jeana Cutkomp. Shawn is married to his wife Bonnie and Re’jeana is married to husband Jeff Cutkomp.
Alva Dean’s wife Evelyn preceded him in death on Dec. 12, 2008. In later years he married Deana Kaye Rainey who also preceded him in death Jan. 19, 2017. Also preceding him in death were his parents and his brother Vernon Carroll Henderson. Alva Dean was an avid sports fan, his favorite being football, dating back to his junior high and high school days. His favorite pro team was the San Francisco 49ers. His biggest devotion was to his dog Stormie Kaye, his faithful companion.
He is survived by his sister Judy Coward and her husband Gene, sister-in-law Jane Henderson, grandchildren: Ashley Gene, Justin Jefferson, Lindsey Jean, Brendan Dean, great grandson Brian Andrew, and numerous nieces and nephews. His grandchildren will remember his love and giving nature, his contagious smile, his high level of integrity, love for golf, tractor rides, story-telling, and, of course, his bad driving!!
Funeral services will be held at Skyvue Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 7220 Rendon Bloodworth Rd. Mansfield,TX 76063, (817)478-6955 on Monday, June 27 th at 10am.
