FORT WORTH -- Leanna Jane (Clause) Hicar, 68, passed away Friday, April 25, 2014, after fighting a courageous battle against Myelodysplastic Syndrome.
Memorial Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014, at South Oaks Baptist Church, 5925 U.S. Hwy. 287 in Arlington. A graveside service will be held later this summer in Thompson, Ohio. Burial: Maple Grove Cemetery in Thompson, Ohio.
Leanna was born April 3, 1946, to Jack and Lori (Keck) Clause Sr. in Indianapolis, Indiana. She lived in Ohio most of her life before moving to Texas in 1999. She enjoyed bowling, Cross-stitch and watching baseball and football before becoming legally blind. After early-disability retirement, she also enjoyed playing cards, bingo and casino trips.
She was preceded in death by her third husband, John Hicar; her second husband, James Manak; her first husband, David Moore; parents, Jack Clause Sr. and Lori (Keck) Hotchkiss; brother, Richard Clause; sister, Virginia Miller; niece, Sherry (Miller) Kirchenbauer and son-in-law, Scott Buterbaugh.
She is survived by her daughter Mikki Buterbaugh of Thompson, Ohio; son, Paul (Kim) Manak of Collins, Ohio; daughter, Kris (Austin) Hellwig of Arlington, Texas; 3 grandchildren, Audrey, Jake and Heather; brother Jack Clause Jr. and her canine companion, Molly.
