Julie Johnson, of Mansfield, Texas, died peacefully at her home on December 12, 2021.
Formerly of Newaygo, Michigan and Tallahassee, Florida, Julie enjoyed being outdoors, either working in her garden or strolling a beach along the coast.
She was born on February 26, 1952, an identical twin with her sister Janet. They were born in Oklahoma City, and lived in various places before settling in Lewisville, Texas. Her parents, Jepp and Jeneel Jones, had two other daughters besides Julie and Janet, with JoAnna and Cindy being added to the family in later
years.
Julie met her husband Jerry while attending the University of Texas at Austin, and they were together for over 50 years. Julie graduated from UT with honors, and taught school for several years. She found her true calling in life as a mother to her 3 children, Jarrod, Jordan, and Jalisa. Later in life, Julie became a renown Yoga instructor, and taught Yoga for over 20 years. She was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Mansfield, and a memorial service is planned at that church on Friday, December 17th. The family is asking that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Julie’s name.
