Funeral for retired SSG Christopher Trent Kruger, a longtime resident of Burleson Texas, died December 20, 2020 at the age of 53 in the care of hospice after a long battle with Polycystic Kidney Disease. Memorial Service will be held at Skyvue Funeral Home Chapel 7220 Rendon Bloodworth Road, Mansfield, Texas 76063, will be officiated by Chaplain Terry Little with full military honors and laid to rest at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Chris was born in Bedford, VA on April 8, 1967 to his mother Carol Camper Kruger Didonna of Roanoke VA, and his father, John Darrell Kruger of Comiso, Italy. Chris married Heidi Hicks Kruger on January 26, 2000 in Las Vegas, NV.
Chris graduated from Cooper High School in 1986 of Abilene, Texas. He received an Associates degree in Business Administration from American Intercontinental University (AIU) in April of 2006 and a Bachelors in Business Administration Project Management from American Intercontinental University (AIU) in February of 2010.
Chris joined the army in 1986 and proudly served his country for 15 years. He retired from the Army in 1998 with an honorable discharge. His medals include Meritorious Service Medal Army Commendation Medal (3rd award), Army Achievement Medal (2nd Award), Army Good Conduct Medal (4th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 3 bronze service stars, Non-Commissioned Officer’s Professional Development Ribbon with numeral 2, along with numerous military education and completed certifications. He was then hired by Lockheed Martin as an Engineer working on the HMARS project from 2000-2005. Chris then joined the oilfield and worked for Key Energy as an Engineer and worked as a Company Man for Conaco Phillips, XTO and Andarko from 2006-2018 until he retired.
Chris committed his life to Christ in 2009 at Life-OKC. He enjoyed fishing, trail riding, restoring old cars, boating with family and friends and any outside activity.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William (Fred) Camper and spouse Alma, Edward Kruger and spouse Angeline; uncle Kenneth Camper,
His survivors include his wife, Heidi Kruger of Burleson, Texas; his sons, Trent Kruger and fiancée Katelyn Carter of Troutville, VA, Austin Ryan Jones and spouse Kali Jones of Burleson, Texas; his daughters, Ashleigh Renea Bible and spouse Jacob Bible of Midlothian, Texas, Amanda Rae McMillen and spouse Danny McMillen of Burleson, Texas; his parents, Carol C. Didonna of Roanoke, VA and fiancé Richard Compton; his sister, Aimee Kruger McAllister and spouse Mark S. of Roanoke, VA; four grandchildren, Mikaela and Cole Bible, Carlie McMillen and Tinley Jones; niece, Kayleigh Marie McAllister; three nephews, Trevor Scott Osborne and Faith, Dylan Mitchell Osborne, Jarod Andrew Osborne; great nephew, Daniel Osborne, all of Roanoke, VA.
