Vanda Lee Kubota, age 85, passed away peacefully at home in Mansfield, Texas on Friday evening, August 19th surrounded by family. She was born January 1, 1937 in Hartman, Colorado to Elmer and Alta Wright.
She was a loving and faithful woman who enjoyed cooking, decorating cakes, singing, playing the piano, writing, worshiping and spending time with family and friends. After graduating High School in Colorado she came to Fort Worth, Texas to live with her brother and sister-in-law, Vernon and Bettye Wright and attended two years of college at TWC until marrying her husband, Johnny Kubota on July 20, 1957.
She worked as an oil and gas secretary, a legal secretary and the secretary of her church plus was a co-owner of the Wooden Bucket ice cream parlor in her spare time alongside her husband, brother and sister-in-law for a little while.
On July 9, 2019 she experienced a stroke that would send her into a multitude of roller coaster rides going up and down for the next 3 years. During this time she had many opportunities to have conversations with the Lord and in one of these conversations she was advised to write a book to remind her of all the blessings she had received in her life. She completed this book not too long ago and wanted to look into getting it published for family and friends. Her family will continue to work on this until it is accomplished.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Alta Wright, husband, Johnny Kubota, son, Mark Kubota and her siblings, Vernon Wright and Lora Malm.
She is survived by her daughter, Madonna Stewart and husband John, grandchildren, Noah Stewart, Nathan Stewart and wife Michelle, Leslie Sanders and husband Weston, Brandon Sanders, Nicholas Kubota and fiancé Randi Burkhardt, great grandchildren, Carter and Levi Sanders.
