Larry Jack Bailey

Larry Jack Bailey, 90, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023.

Memorial service: 11:00 am Friday, November 10, 2023, at First Methodist Mansfield.

Larry was born on April 2, 1933, to Arthur and Florence Bailey in Quenemo KS.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

He graduated from Lyndon High School and attended Washburn University in Topeka, KS. after joining the Army, he married Bertha Beryl (Sowell) Bailey on December 13, 1956, in Topeka, KS.  Larry worked for Air Force Supply Depot, Martin Marietta, Owner of a Texaco Gas Station before retiring from LTV/Vought Aircraft after 31 years.

Larry was a member of the  United Methodist Church La Veta, Colorado, loved football - specifically, the KC Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys, golfing, bowling, fishing, hunting and traveling the US and Canada with his wife and close friends.  

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; Arthur and Florence Bailey; brothers, Don and Bill Bailey and daughter, Kristy Bush.

Survivors: Wife, Bertha B. Bailey; daughters, Patti Altman and husband Randy, Shari Bailey and Connie Havens; sons, Kevin Bailey, David Bailey and wife Connie, 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Gateway Hospice for taking special care of Larry while he was on Hospice.
