Larry Smitherman, Sr.

Larry Earl Smitherman, Sr. of Mansfield, Texas went to be with the Lord on December 24, 2023, in the comfort of his own home surrounded by family at the age of 71.

Larry was born in Fort Worth, Texas on December 13, 1952, to Kenneth Darrell Smitherman, Sr. and Bonnie Jean Hiser.  He married his loving wife, Brenda Sue Harkcom on November 3, 1973, in Somervell County, Texas. He was a member of Life Fellowship in Kennedale, Texas.  Larry worked for Hoffman Cabinets in Mansfield, Texas for 17 years and went on to work for Kustom Kraft in Seagoville, Texas for 20 years. 

He really enjoyed dirt track racing, fishing and being a Recycling Guru and Creator of “Papa’s Prize Piles.”

Larry was welcomed into Heaven by those who preceded him in death including his mother, Bonnie Jean Hiser Laurence; father, Kenneth Darrell Smitherman, Sr.; stepfather, RB Laurence; stepbrothers, Bobby and Michael Laurence.

Those left to cherish his memory and continue his legacy are his loving wife, Brenda Sue Smitherman; daughters, Tina Jo Smitherman and Janice Lester; sons, Larry Earl Smitherman, Jr. and wife, Misty, Gary Lewis Smitherman and wife, Michelle; sister, Deborah Smitherman; stepsister, Pamela Laurence; brothers, Kenneth Darel Smitherman, Jr. and wife, Bessie, James Weldon Smitherman and wife, Brenda; grandchildren, Britt Kelly McClintock, Jr. and wife Zoe, Brooke Wallace and husband, Phil, Larry Earl Smitherman III “Trey” and wife, Malory, Gary Lewis Smitherman, Jr., Amber Humphries, Ryan McKenny Smitherman, Kenneth Humphries III, Emily Smitherman, Lacey Thompson and husband, Will; great-grandchildren, Brody and Ryley Tarrant, Audrey, Wyatt and Coda McClintock, Luke, Lily, Levi, Connor and Emily Humphries; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
