Michelle McCarty Lofton passed away early Friday morning May 9th, 2014. A celebration of her life will be held at Skyvue Funeral Home in Mansfield, Texas on Monday May 12th at 11:00. Her life’s work was as a Registered Nurse, where her calling was as a Hospice nurse providing peace and comfort to families during their time of need.
Michelle recently left her nursing career in order to care for her newest grandson, 8-month-old Michael David Jimenez, who she doted on daily and cuddled nonstop. Joshua Edward Jimenez, her oldest grandson, most enjoyed their dates to the Chic Fil A where his Nana was patient enough to allow him to play as long as he liked – she was the only one with such patience. Michelle’s daughters, Danette Jimenez and Melissa Lofton, will never be able to replace the amount of wisdom and love she provided on a daily basis. She answered every phone call, through the day or night- “Mom, how do you boil an egg? Remind me again how to make country gravy? Why won’t this baby sleep through the night (less daytime naps, Nana!)?”
Michelle was a joy and inspiration to all who knew or worked with her. She will be forever missed by her surviving brother Jeff McCarty (Pat), her daughters Danette Jimenez (Beto) and Melissa Lofton, grandsons Joshua and Michael Jimenez, and numerous nieces and nephews. Michelle was preceded in death by her parents, David W. McCarty and Marlene Lancaster, her big brother Dudley W McCarty, and her grandparents Jasper and Alene McCarty and Dudley D and Blanche Lancaster.
