Elizabeth Ann Mager
June 21, 1960 - February 25, 2023
Elizabeth Ann Owens Mager of Alvarado, TX passed away on February 25, 2023, after a brief illness. She was born on June 21, 1960, to Eleanor Angelley Owens and Theo Ray Owens in Dallas, TX.
After graduating from Mansfield High School, she briefly attended college and then, in 2022 returned to school to earn certification as a Nursing Assistant.
She was employed at Mansfield Texas Health Hospital where she rose to the position of Monitor Room technician. She had spent most of her life working in the medical profession and found this, her last position to be the most challenging and satisfying one of her life.
Elizabeth was known by her friends and family as “Mother Nature.” She ran a rescue colony for stray cats and was a consummate gardener. Her loving presence is sorely missed by her pets; dogs, Lily and Stormy and Thor, her cat.
Elizabeth is survived by her loving husband Michael Barry Mager, by a daughter, Angelique Cassandra Hogan Tilson of Cleburne, TX and a son, John Alan Hogan of Alvarado, TX. She is also survived by her two sisters: Teresa Owens Blackington of Alvarado, TX and Melissa Owens Swingle of Kingman, KS, as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth was known to have “never met a stranger” and her sunny disposition and compassion will be missed by many.
A gathering of remembrance will be held for Elizabeth’s family and friends at the home of Theresa Blackington (9116 Sally’s Way, Alvarado, TX) on Sunday, March 12 at 2 PM.
