Margaret Lynn Taylor

April 29, 1959 — April 1, 2025

Margaret Lynn Taylor passed away on April 1, 2025, at the age of 65.

Lynn was born on April 29, 1959, in New London, Connecticut, to parents James Pennington and Margaret (Peg) DeRose Pennington.

On August 28, 1992, she married Mr. Ronn Taylor at the First Baptist Church in Heath, Texas. She was a beloved and faithful member of First Baptist Church of Mansfield, where she attended regularly and built lasting relationships within the congregation.

Lynn was a passionate and dedicated member of the Texas foster care community. Over the course of 16 years, she opened her home and heart to nearly 100 children, providing love, stability, and care to each one. Her selflessness and generosity left a lasting impact on countless lives.

She had a profound love for Christmas—it was more than a holiday to her; it was a way of life that she joyfully celebrated year-round. Lynn also enjoyed shopping, cooking meals for family and friends, crafting, and tending to her garden.

Lynn was preceded in death by her father, James Pennington.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ronn Taylor; her daughters, Carissa Woolsey-Velasquez (husband Daniel Velasquez), Tori Taylor, and her son, Mason Taylor; her mother, Margaret (Peg) Pennington; and mother and father in-law, John and Glennis Taylor; her siblings; sister, Kathy Padgett (husband Ken), and brother David Pennington (wife Theresa); and her brother in laws Robert Taylor (wife Vanessa), Charles Taylor (wife Kerri), and Phillip Taylor (wife Amy).

She is also survived by her many beloved nieces and nephews including: nieces Kari Vyhlidal (husband Jeff), Kristi Shornock, Whitney Taylor, Lauren Taylor, Rebekah Taylor, Caroline Taylor, Emma Taylor; and nephews, Kyle Padgett, Zachary Pennington, Lane Taylor (wife Kaelyn), Hunter Taylor, and Ashton Taylor.

Those also left to remember and cherish Lynn’s memory are her great nieces and nephews: Emma Vyhlidal, Jude Vyhlidal, Cora Taylor and Gianna Shornock.

She is also survived by Michaela McVicker, who was like a daughter to her, along with countless other family and friends.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the many friends, neighbors, foster families, and loved ones who supported Lynn throughout her life. A special thank you to the foster children whose lives were forever touched by her love—she carried a piece of each one in her heart.
