Mary Ellen Mattinson, of Burleson, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at the age of 81.

Graveside Service: 11:00 AM Friday, November 17, 2023 at Tye Cemetery, Burleson, Texas.

Mary was born on May 29, 1942 in Fort Worth, Texas to Vollie Hugh Rhoades and Ruby Ellen Rhoades (Carter).

She graduated from Poly High School and UT Arlington. She then worked as an editor for USDA Soil Conservation Services until retirement in 2004. In July of 1965, she married Richard Mattinson and together they built a beautiful life and family. Mary's family always remained her proudest accomplishment. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband Richard Mattinson, parents Vollie and Ruby Rhoades and daughter-in-law Susie Mattinson.

She is survived by her sons Richard Mattinson(Brenda) and Joel Mattinson, brother Hugh Rhoades(Mary), sister Karen Humble(Larry), grandchildren Riley, Hanna, Gracie, Drew and Sadie, great-grandson Ross and numerous other extended family members and loving friends.
