Covey was born on January 31, 1950 in Plainview, Texas to Tommy and Lavern McGaha.
He is preceded in death by both of his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie McGaha; son, Shane McGaha; daughters, Melanie McGaha, Christina Helm, Amber Bass; brother, Mark “Buck” McGaha; sister, Janet Slane; grandchildren, Shaylee, Kayden, Rylee, Chase, Preston, Caylee, Charlee; additional family members, Shawn Pandoff, Benny Bass, Jennifer Davis; and numerous other extended family members and friends.
