In Loving Memory of Michael Lee Woods

August 24, 1948 - January 23, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Lee Woods, known affectionately as Big Mike, who left us on January 23, 2024, at the age of 75. He was born on August 24, 1948 in Fort Worth, Texas. He lived the majority of his life on Shelby Rd. in Everman.

Big Mike was a beloved member of the Everman community, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a generous, caring father, and a cherished Papa.

In addition to his love for motorcycles, knives, flashlights and shopping, Mike cherished the moments spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family and friends. He had a contagious smile that would light up a room. In his younger years, he was adventurous and a forward thinker. He snow skied, water skied, scuba dived, drove fast cars and won many motocross races. He loved his pets and always had a place for a stray dog or cat.

He owned and operated Everman Electric and AC until the time of his passing. He was extremely smart and never said no when someone asked for help or advice.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on through the stories shared by family and friends. As we mourn the loss of Big Mike, let us remember the laughter, love, and strength he brought into our lives.

Michael Lee Woods was preceded in death by his son, Jeff Woods and parents, Alvis Lee Woods and Johnnie Winell Wagnon. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rose Woods, his children, Sandy Wallis (Tony), Iesha Cogburn (Heath) and Michael Crist (Amber). Grandchildren, Cody Woods, Tyler Lee, and Ella Cogburn, plus many loving family and friends.

May he rest in peace, forever remembered, forever missed. Until we see you again, save us a place in Heaven.

A memorial will be held at Cana Baptist Church on Saturday, January 27th at 1PM.
