Jonathan Monasco, a loving father, husband and life-long resident of Fort Worth, TX, died unexpectedly on December 31, 2015 at the age of 46. Although his life was cut short, he made a profound impact on the lives of all who knew him.
Jonathan is survived by his wife Melinda Monasco and his daughter Lauren of Arlington, Texas; his father Troy Monasco, and stepmom Betty, of Burleson, Texas and his brother Jason Monasco, of Galveston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his mother Sheila Krist, of Fort Worth, Texas. Jonathan was born in Fort Worth on May 20,1969 to Sheila and Troy Monasco. He attended Burleson High School. On August 27,1994 he married Melinda Floyd, his wife of twenty-one years. Melinda is a school teacher in Arlington at Wood Elementary and is an active member of the community. On August 26, 2001, he and Melinda welcomed their beautiful daughter Lauren who was the light of his life. Jonathan worked at many large companies in the Fort Worth area including Frito Lay, Dr. Pepper, Alcon, and Coca Cola.
Jonathan was a devoted husband and father who was deeply involved in Melinda and Lauren's lives. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting deer and fishing as it made him feel connected to God. His family and friends will remember him as a kind-hearted man who made friends easily. Jonathan had a passion for films and particularly enjoyed westerns, movies about history, nature and science. He had an amazing talent for quoting lines from films. He loved to laugh, crack jokes and make others laugh. Jonathan was a believer in Christ and was baptized as a child. He was so proud to know that his daughter, Lauren, had made the decision to follow Christ as well. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, co-workers and all who knew him.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 AM at Rush Creek located on the SE corner of Green Oaks Blvd and Bowen Road in SW Arlington (2350 SW Green Oaks Blvd. Arlington, TX 76017). The viewing and graveside will be at Skyvue funeral home located at 7220 Rendon Bloodworth Rd, Mansfield. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jonathan's life. The family would like to thank all family members and friends for the donations and help throughout this grieving process. Flowers can be sent to Skyvue Funeral Home. The viewing will be at 12 Noon and the graveside service will be at 1:00 PM for all that would like to attend.
