Dickie "Lee" Morton

February 23, 1953 — March 26, 2020

Dickie “Lee” Morton, 67, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, March 26, 2020. Services will be held for family at Skyvue Funeral Home.

Lee was born February 23, 1953 in Chariton, Iowa. He married Mary Margaret Priest on October 9, 1982 in El Cajon, California, and the family moved to Mansfield Texas in 1986. Lee was a loyal employee of Mouser Electronics for 35 years, and also served as President of the Mansfield Adult Softball League and as a member of the Mansfield City Parks Board. Lee also served briefly as a deacon at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church before stepping aside due to ill health.

The family expresses its deep appreciation for the support and encouragement received from fellow church members, co-workers, neighbors, and friends as we traveled with Lee on his life’s journey. He suffered many physical ailments but with excellent medical care, persevered many years. Our special thanks to physicians David Podgurecki, Sneha Patel, B. Rai Mehta, Shantala Samart, and W. Amer Sardar for their love, care, and concern as they worked together to ensure Lee’s highest quality of life.

Lee’s favorite college team was Notre Dame, and in the spirit of the Fighting Irish, Lee fought the good fight and finished his course with courage to the end. Those left to cherish his memory are wife Mary, son Charles and wife Rosanna, son John and wife Shannon, and beloved granddaughters Gentry, Maddox, and Malone.
