Mary Anne Mounger passed away March 11, 2018 in Arlington, Texas.
Memorial Service: 3: 00 pm Monday March 19 at Skyvue Funeral Home, 7220 Rendon Bloodworth Road, Mansfield, Texas 76063.
Mary Anne was born on November 20, 1933 to George and Hortense Johnson in Oak Cliff, Texas. With her God given intellect and artistic talent she received a scholarship to Texas Tech University in Commercial Art. There she became the Secretary of the Engineering Sciences Department where she met Clyde Mounger, the father of her three children. They were married in 1955, until his death in 1992. She did an amazing job of supporting her children and husband in all their sporting, equestrian and scholastic activities, all while raising them up to have a strong spiritual relationship with God. She taught Sunday School, Good News Club and became Regional Director of Girls in Action. She was contracted to paint many portraits, landscapes and many other types of artwork. She was extremely talented in creating any types of paintings, drawings, sculptures and many other various curations. She was a 40 year cancer survivor. In 1999 she remarried to Herb Gonzales. She moved back to Oak Cliff when they married and lived there until his death in 2014. At that time, she moved back to Arlington to be close to her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father and two brothers.
She was survived by her daughter Lisa Harris, son Jim Mounger, daughter Stephanie Ivy, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
