Katherine Nelms

Katherine Ann Nelms, 63, was greeted at the heavenly gates on Monday April 24, 2017.
Memorial Service is to begin at 12 noon, Saturday April 29, 2017 at Skyvue Victoria Chapel.
Memorials: In lieu of Flowers the family request that donation be made to the American Lung Association in Katherine Ann Nelms name or the charities of your choice .
She began her journey on March 12, 1954 where she was born at Jackson General Hospital in
Jackson, Tennessee. She graduated from Jackson Central Merry High School and after, she
attended Jackson State Community College where she graduated with degree in Medical
Technology. After being a Phlebotomist at Jackson Madison General Hospital for many years,
Katherine and her family moved to Texas in January of !990 where she trailed a new path. A wife and a mother of three girls, she was also a daughter, sister, aunt and grandmother to many.
After her hard-fought battle of COPD for 15 years, God decided her work on earth was done.
She is proceeded in death by her first husband John Thomas Allison.
She is survived by her parents, George and Katherine Burns, her brother Robert Burns and wife Belinda, her husband, Calvin Nelms, her daughters, Carly Herrera and husband John, Christie Allison, Linda Swinney,
Angela Nelms and her fiancé Eric Cates. Eight grandchildren and many friends. Please, in lieu of
flowers, submit donations to the American Lung Association or donation of your choice, in her
name.
