Christie O'Brien

December 25, 1953 — February 7, 2017

Christie Snow O’Brien, 63, passed away Tuesday February 7, 2017 in Fort Worth. Memorial service: 1pm March 18 at Skyvue Funeral Home, 7220 Rendon Bloodworth Road (FM 1187), Mansfield, TX. Christie was born December 25, 1953 in Dallas, TX to Billy and Imogene Snow. She graduated from South Grand Prairie High School where she was a member of the high school Drill Team. Christie was a hard worker and rarely idle. She worked for numerous companies in Texas, Pennsylvania, and in Florida where she lived for over twenty years. While in Florida to challenge her fear of water she became an excellent swimmer and an avid scuba diver. Christie moved back to Texas about six years ago. She worked for several companies in the DFW area while also working as a vendor at flea markets and trade days. She especially enjoyed buying and selling glass items, hats, and antiques. Christie had recently begun designing and selling custom lamps shades with her trademark feather boas. She was a people-person and was comfortable with just about anyone. Once she made a friend they were usually a friend for life. Christie was also an animal lover and never met a stray that she wasn’t prepared to help. On one occasion she rescued a lost dog that looked so forlorn she fed it the entire pizza she had just picked up for her and her sister! She especially loved her two dogs, Ryder and Radar. Christie was always ready to help her family and friends. She would volunteer her services at a moment’s notice to all who asked. She enjoyed meeting with the family and friends on holidays and get-togethers. Her favorite drink was Crown and water when it was time to party. Her favorite reading materials were self-help and achievement books. Christie was a beautiful woman with a great sense of humor, a ready smile, and a kind word. Her family and friends will miss her. She was preceded in death by her father; Billy Eugene Snow. Survivors include: Imogene Snow Brennan (mother) and husband Johnny Brennan; Mike Snow (brother) and wife Sue Snow; Emma Snow and Audrey Snow (nieces); Donna Bates (sister); Shawna Nimocks (niece) and husband Austin Nimocks; RJ Bates III (nephew) and wife Jana Bates; and grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins, uncles, countless friends, and business associates.
