Jorge Alberto Ortiz, 52 , passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 14, 2017.
Funeral: 1 pm Tuesday, at Skyvue Victoria Chapel. Burial: Skyvue Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 6-9 pm Monday, at Skyvue Funeral Home with Rosary to start at 7 pm.
Jorge was born to Olvido and Martha Ortiz Jr on Nov. 11, 1964 in Laredo, TX. After moving to Fort Worth at an early age and attending school, at the age 17, he started driving a sand and gravel truck, then moved back to Laredo where he started driving commercial trucks all over the U.S. Then taking a local job being a commercial truck driver instructor for Texas A&M University. After spending several years in Laredo, he moved back to Fort Worth and went back to driving a sand and gravel truck for the family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and rock and roll music, and grilled like no other. Every time we had a family function you knew he would be at the barbecue grill preparing all the food for everyone. He was preceded in death by his Dad, Olvido Ortiz Jr., brothers, Willie and Angel Moreno; grandparents, Olvido and Carmen Ortiz Sr., and Estevan and Catala Salinas; and numerous family members.
Survivors: Parents, Jerry and Martha Moreno; companion , Cammie Mcclendon Lamb; children, Anthony Ortiz and wife Echo, Ramon Ortiz, Ashley Roye and husband Nathan, and Corporal Jorge Ortiz Jr. and wife Karina; brothers, Jerry Moreno Jr. and wife Gloria, David Moreno and wife Carmen, Robert Ortiz and wife Teresa, and Ramon Ortiz; sisters, Liza Zuniga and husband Gabriel, Ydalia Moreno, Maclovia Cortez, Sylvia Dominguez, and Odelia Gonzalez and husband Roberto; grandchildren, Sage, Danielle, Ainslee, Brileigh, Christopher, and Cooper; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
