Pat Palm, 87, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017.
Memorial Service: 10:00 am Saturday, in Skyvue Victoria Chapel. Pat was born in Fort Worth, TX. 02-21-1929 during a winter storm that froze Lake Worth. She grew up in Frisco, TX where her father was a rancher and partner in The Davis Brothers Ranch. When that ranch was sold they moved to a ranch in Eastern Jack County, TX near the Cundiff Community. There she finished high school at Jacksboro, TX and then went to Texas State College for Women in Denton, TX where she received a BA degree in History. She had planned to get a degree in Library Science but instead received an MRS degree when she married William Barkley Palm Jr. on 11/23/1949.

She and her husband, Bill, moved to Brownwood, TX where their two children were born. A daughter, Patricia Kathleen Middleton and her husband Herbert O. Middleton III are retired Ft. Worth Police Officers and now are currently ranching in Clay County, TX just west of Bowie. A son, William B. Palm III and his wife, Patricia now live in Ft. Worth. He works as a Maintenance Contract Inspector for the Texas Department of Transportation and his wife works as a floral designer at Flowers On The Square in Ft. Worth.

During her husbands career with Cargill, she lived in Brownwood, TX, College Station, TX, Excelsior, MN, Shawnee Mission, KS, Gunter, TX and finally Rendon, TX just west of Mansfield.

During her life in Minnesota, Pat was a substitute teacher for all grades and classes from Boy’s PE to French. When she returned to Texas, she got a teacher’s certificate and taught English and History at the Gunter Independent School District. She had been elected to the GISD School Board and they hired her to teach resulting in her having to resign the Board because she ask too many questions. After moving to Rendon, she taught for five years at the Everman Independent School District teaching Texas History and English.

Pat moved into Real Estate sales with her husband, Bill, in the mid 70’s and retired in the late 80’s. She enjoyed selling real estate and was a multi-million dollar producer at a time when expensive houses sold for $100,000.

Upon retirement from real estate sales, she stayed home, read books, and traveled widely with her husband until such a time as they were no longer able.

Pat and her husband, Bill, were married 67 years, 2 months and 13 days.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Eli Davis Jr. and Marciea Scott Davis, and a brother, Thomas Eli Davis III.

Pat is survived by her husband, Bill; son, William B. Palm IlI and wife, Patricia along with grandson, Adam; a daughter, Patricia Kathleen Middleton and her husband, Herbert O. Middleton III; grandson, Herbert O. Middleton IV and his wife, Melaina; great-grandson, Treb; great-granddaughter, Melissa Moore; two nephews, Thomas S. Davis and Scott Kraus along with numerous grand nieces and grand nephews.
