Paul Irvin Baines passed away peacefully on August 23, 2024. He was born on April 4, 1936 in Portsmouth, Virginia. He attended DeVry University in Chicago and got a job working for General Dynamics in Fort Worth. He moved to Arlington, Texas in 1967 to raise his family. He served in the United States Navy Reserve and also worked on the USS Kitty Hawk. Paul traveled around the country working in the aviation industry designing wiring harnesses and fire protection systems for McDonnell Douglas, Ling-Temco-Vought (LTV), Northrop Grumman and Boeing. Paul was an avid photographer whose pics were published in trade magazines and local newspapers. Paul relocated to Hamilton, Texas 18 years ago where he was involved in his church, the American Legion and the Hamilton Community Center.
Paul loved taking roadtrips and stopping to snap pictures of wildflowers and interesting sights along the way. He loved sharing his knowledge of aviation and had a knack for solving the most complicated math problems you can imagine. He enjoyed going to the local cafe for coffee or buying fruit from his local grocery. He was always willing to offer a ride or a helping hand to those in need in his community.
Paul is celebrating his reunion with those that preceded him in death: his parents, Earnest Onan Baines and Pauline Wilkins Baines; brothers Adrian Baines and Merrill Baines. He is survived by his brothers, Donnie and Jimmy Baines; sister, Florence Baines; children Alisa Brown and Jeffrey Baines; grandchildren, Nathan Baines and Issac Baines, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
The family would like to share their deep gratitude and appreciation to everyone who reached out to offer their compassion and support during this difficult time.
"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:38-39).
