Roma Perkins Franks Boucher

BURLESON -- It is with great sadness that the daughters of Roma Dean Perkins Franks Boucher, age 87, announce her death on January 24, 2016, which resulted from a period of declining health. Mom now joins the family who preceded her in death; her parents, husbands, brothers: Johnny and Donald Ray Perkins, son Ricky Franks, infant daughter Vicky Franks, grandson Dallas Crawford, and son-in-law Frank Filip.
Mom was born to the union of Berna Dean and Roma Lester Perkins. At age 16, she met and married our father, Bob Franks. They shared 27 years of marriage and loved 4 children together until Dad's death in 1972. Mom found marital happiness again with our step-father Henry Joseph Boucher, Jr., “Papa Joe”, who died on October 2, 1988.
Those left behind to keep Mom's memory alive are her daughters, Teresa Franks Desormeaux (Joe Billy), Sandi Franks Filip, and Rene Franks Crawford and her grandchildren Robin Green Stockton (Chuck), Donovan Green, Ryan Filip, Jennifer Crawford, Wesley Crawford, Rachel Franks Smith (Darren); her great grandchildren Madeline and Samantha Stockton, James Paul Filip, Landen Crall, Kaitlyn and Jacob Smith, Jeffrey and Isabel Crawford; Vivien Franks, daughter-in-law, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mom was a devoted daughter, a loving wife, a comforting mother, a proud grandmother, a true and loyal friend. She was a great flirt who never met a stranger. Mom's favorite activity was spending time with family and friends. She loved music, dancing, the Dallas Cowboys, and fried chicken. She took immense pride in her hair, makeup, and fashion. She was a true beauty.
Mom was a resident of Fort Worth until October 2012. Her last work experience was the Manager of Niver Western Wear from 1998 - 2004. Prior to that, she worked with Pier 1 Imports Soft lines Distribution Center, from 1987- 1997. We are so grateful to all the caregivers who became part of our family when Mom moved to be with our middle sister, Sandi, in Burleson, Texas. Mom was surrounded with love, comfort and peace; she so enjoyed the help and friendship.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 29, 11:00 AM, at Boulevard Baptist Church in Burleson, Texas, with visitation after the service. A family graveside service will take place the following day at 2:00 PM at Shady Grove Cemetery in Haynesville, Louisiana, assisted by Bailey Funeral Home.
We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the caregivers at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab of Burleson, Texas, during Mom's brief time there.
