Carama Sue Peterson

August 10, 1940 — March 5, 2020

Carama Sue Peterson, a loving and much-loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and
beloved friend, passed from this world on March 5, 2020, with her family beside her. Sue was born
August 10, 1940, in Clarksdale, Mississippi, but had lived the last many years in Arlington, TX. She had
also lived in North Carolina, Okinawa, and in Arizona, and had many stories about her life in each
location. Sue worked in banking, in sales, and later as a family counselor, after earning a Master’s
Degree (with honors) in Social Work at UT-Arlington.
Sue loved to travel with her family (New York, Grand Cayman, Myrtle Beach, and snow skiing were some
of her favorites), and to read, talk politics, play the piano, listen to music, buy electronic gadgets, watch
the ocean, play games, shop, dance, practice her photography, and visit art museums. However, her very
biggest loves were being with her family, cooking for her family, and decorating for holidays with her
family, especially Christmas and Easter. Sue loved her family fiercely, and she excelled at making
memories. Sue’s special skill was laughing. She had the very best laugh ever, which she indulged often,
and which all loved to hear. Gatherings with Sue always involved over-eating and laughing ‘til it hurt!
Preceded in death by: Mother, Era Corrine Wolfe; Father, Forrest Palmer Wolfe; Brother, Forrest Palmer
Wolfe, Jr.; Nephew, Kenneth Dean (Leo) DeMoney.
Sue is survived by her daughters Kimberly Peterson of Fort Worth, TX, Pam Peterson Kamesch (and
husband Pat), grandchildren Ryan Byars (and wife Diana) and Megan Byars Smith (and husband Don),
Kristi Kamesch, great-grandchildren Chase Byars and Emily Byars, her sisters, Shelia Hines (and husband
Billy) and Rebecca Thorne, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends, all of whom will miss
beautiful, loving Sue without end.
A memorial service will be held June 14, 2020 from 1:30 to 4:30 in the afternoon at Sanford House
(Renoir Room), 509 N. Center St., Arlington, TX. 76011.
