Tammy Christine Phipps was born on October 11, 1968 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to parents William Stewart Hodges and Jerry Lou Hodges. Tammy was a resident of Grand Prairie, TX since 2001. She was an active member of Matthew Road Baptist Church. She also loved spending time with her family, teaching kindergarten and music, and shopping for new shoes. Most importantly, though, she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She taught kindergarten for twenty three years and wanted to do nothing more than take her group of children and teach them and love them as if they were her own. She loved her children and her grandchild, Brooklyn, who would always call her Mimi, night and day. She was so proud of her children for all that they had accomplished. She never missed any sporting events, choir concerts, or any other activities that all three of her children were involved in. Following a long and brave battle with ALS, Tammy passed away on June 11, 2018 and went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, face to face. Tammy was preceded in death by father, William Stewart Hodges, Jr..and her niece, Meeghan Lyn Hodges. Tammy is survived by her mother, Jerry Hodges, brother, Aaron Hodges and Malia of Midland, TX, son, Jonathan and his wife, Tiffanye of Arlington, TX, granddaughter, Brooklyn, son, William and his wife, Danielle of Killeen, TX, and daughter, Kristen Phipps of Grand Prairie, TX, as well as numerous family members and loving friends.
