Hugh Poindexter Jr

Hugh Torrence Poindexter, Jr. born May 20, 1935 in Ft. Worth, TX

Hugh served in the Army National Guard from 1957 – 1962.

A vast amount of Hugh's career was spent in retail and sales before working as an entrepreneur
alongside his beloved wife, Jessie, in Property Management. Hugh and Jessie retired to Burleson, Texas
in 2011.

Hugh was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Margaret Poindexter, his grandparents, Nellie and William Lucey, his grandson, Travis Harper, and the best dog ever, Thunder.

Hugh is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jessie Poindexter, daughters Julie Redlon and her husband
Stephen, Renee Blackwell and her husband Ron, Carolyn Reed and her husband Tommy, and son Larry Kelso. Grandchildren: Brandon Sanderson, Paige Eggleston, Matthew Kelso, Marrisa Kelso, Rhiannon Kelso, Powell Kelso, Megan Redlon, Zachary Redlon, Kevin Harper, Amy Crabtree, Jake Blackwell, Kim Purkiser, and Thomas Reed. Great-grandchildren: Bryant Harper, Dalia Credeur, Ondra Romero, Halle Kelso, Brandt Kelso, Keaton Eggleston, Abigail Harper, Jessica Coburn, Faith Reed and Chester the Chihuaua and Puddy Cat.

Hugh was a man who truly lived his life on his own terms. Hugh had an unconditional love for his family and friends and served as a mentor to many. He will be deeply missed by many and remembered always by his family.
