Mildred Roberson Reeves of Mansfield, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 after enjoying 90 wonderful years of life and memories.
Mildred was born on August 26, 1930, in the Webster Parish of Louisiana to the proud parents, Sammie Roberson and Ruby Banks Roberson West. She was formerly of Monroe, Louisiana where she attended Webster Parish Schools through High School before graduating from Grambling College (Grambling State University). She was a member of Zion Traveler Baptist Church of Monroe Louisiana until relocating to Texas. She was a faithful member of the choir and a matron. She was also a Member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority. Mildred was a skilled seamstress and created many pieces of hand embroidered artwork using Kenyan batiks. She was sought after for her "punch bowl cake" creations. Mildred was also a Retired Area Agent for LSU AgCenter, Louisiana Cooperative Extension Services.
She was married to Henry Reeves for 57 wonderful years until he passed in 2014. They will be reunited and committed to the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, her four brothers and her husband of 57 years, Henry Reeves.
She is survived by her daughter, Henree' Reeves Morehead and her son-in-law Kevin Jerome Morehead of Mansfield, Texas; two grandchildren, Deja Raquel Morehead and Chamberlyn Chanel Morehead of Mansfield, Texas.
Mildred will be missed by her sister-in-law, Ellen West of Palm Coast, Florida; several beloved cousins; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
