Richard Earl Byrd

Richard Earl Byrd has passed away on April 20, 2024, at the age of 74.

Richard was born on April 9, 1950, in Cleburne, Tx, to Albert Richard Byrd and Julia Terry Byrd. He moved to Joshua for a time, before settling in Lometa, Texas. He married Peggy Brooks in Burleson on April 24, 1971. Richard worked for Burleson ISD for 25 years. He also served 6 years in the Army National Guard. Richard loved hunting, fishing, and any outdoor activities with his family.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Julia Byrd; his sisters, Sherry and Cathy.

Richard is survived by his wife of 52 years, Peggy Byrd; his son, Jason and Dena Byrd; his grandchildren, Coby and Haven Byrd, Lacy and Mason Hughes; his great-granddaughter, Madelyn aka "The Princess"; his nieces, Staci, Holley, Lucy, Karen Ann, and Ashlea; his nephews, Rodney, Cody, Briley; other family and friends, Donna Shepherd, The Eakins, The Tigners, Gary Brownlow, Bill Johnston, The Gilleys, The Millers, and The Cousins: Jerry Terry and Donna.
